A Little about our apricot kernels.

Our apricot kernels can be found in almost all Health food stores and health food markets in Australia. 

Our raw, non-GMO, USDA Certified Organic apricot kernels originate from wild apricot trees that have never come into contact with any pesticides, herbicides or synthetic fertilizers. The apricots are gently harvested by hand, then the kernels are carefully removed and slowly and gently air dried.

For centuries apricot kernels have been used as a food however in 2015 in Australia and New Zealand they were removed from the food code by food standards Australia. It is therefore illegal to brand label or market apricot kernels as a food in Australia and New Zealand. Many other countries like the USA continue to brand and label apricot kernels as a food but this is not the case in Australia. The oznatureshop.com.au  does not sell, market, label or brand any of our apricot kernel products as a food to ensure we comply with current Australian legislation.

The removal of apricot kernels from the food code has put much pressure on the industry and consequently made the Australian supply of apricot kernels very difficult and almost non existent.

We try and source Australian local grown apricot kernels when possible and if not available locally we directly import our apricot kernels from various countries depending on supply. We ensure we import only the worlds best apricot kernels. Our apricot kernels arrive Raw, Natural, Unfumigated and food grade.
